Keurig Vue Technology

May 5, 2014

A piston pump. Custom Brew Technology®. Café beverages. A control board. Our Keurig® Vue system was engineered for simplicity, but this brewer anything but simple once you look under the hood. Equipped with our most advanced brewing technology, the Vue® system gives users the ability to customize the strength, size, and temperature of their beverages. Its launch debuted personalization our Keurig fans dearly desired and now that desire to personalize is a hallmark of what we’ll bring to consumers with our next generation brewer.

We heard from our consumers they wanted the ability to enjoy all that our Vue® system has to offer, including the ability to brew stronger and bigger beverages, but with the added flexibility to also brew K-Cup® packs. Our new Keurig® 2.0 system, which will be introduced this year, will do just that. We believe Keurig® 2.0 is our finest Keurig® hot system brewer ever built.  It is the only brewer on the market to offer brew size flexibility, whether single cup, mug, or carafe.  Keurig® 2.0 also combines the best Keurig® brewing engine from our Vue® system with unprecedented beverage choice and timeless design appeal. And it all began with a few challenging innovations made simple due to our systems approach:

Custom Brew Technology® – The use of piston pump technology gives the Keurig Vue® system the ability to adjust water pressure, timing, and airflow, so consumers can brew to better suit their taste preferences.

  • Brew Stronger: The Vue® system gives users the ability to modify the strength of their beverages.  When “strong” is selected, water moves through the Vue® pack slower, so it sits longer in the grinds and collects more flavor and strength.
  • Brew Bigger:  Consumers can brew a larger travel mug with Vue® packs specially formulated to brew a bigger – yet still full strength – cup up to 18 oz.
  • Brew Hotter:  Vue® offers a brewing temperature range between 187 and 197 degrees Fahrenheit, so consumers have more ways to customize the perfect cup.
  • Brew More: The Vue® brewer’s advanced water pressure and airflow adjustment capabilities, as well as the design of the Vue® pack, make it possible to create frothy, creamy beverages like café-style vanilla lattes and cappuccinos.

Recyclability – Vue® packs are made from polypropylene #5 plastic and can be recycled wherever polypropylene/#5 plastics are accepted.

Last year, The New York Times explored the innovation behind the Keurig Vue® system, providing an in-depth look at the inner workings of the system. Go and take a look under the brewer head.
