2016 By The Numbers
January 3, 2017In 2016, Keurig Green Mountain made major moves. Our 5,700 employees launched over 70 new beverage varieties into the Keurig® system, including fan-favorite The Original Donut Shop® Peppermint Bark. Consumers could choose a brewer in a rainbow of 21 different colors to fit their personal style, including Pantone’s Color of the Year. Keurig® was named the 2016 Brand of the Year in the Single Serve Coffee Maker category for the fifth year in a row and took home the title of Most Loved and Trusted Single Serve brand. Our first recyclable K-Cup® pods launched, moving us a step closer to our 2020 goal to have 100% of K-Cup® pods be recyclable.
Beyond our brands, we engaged over 417,000 coffee farmers to significantly improve their livelihoods and we diverted 93% of our waste from the landfill. We became a part of a bigger family. We took 49 employees to source. Over half of our employees used their CAFE time to volunteer, totaling 56,000 hours of goodwill.
