Electrical & Computer Engineering

Automation Controls
  • Support implementation of automation systems including PLC, HMI, SCADA, robots, data acquisition, and industrial networks
  • Support the checkout, commissioning, and optimization of equipment
  • Assist with development of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems as needed to support the operation and integration of manufacturing equipment systems
  • Assist in change control, systems backups, and system documentation
Electrical Controls & Embedded Software
  • Contribute to the design and qualification of Keurig  appliances
  • Investigate, prototype, and assess alternative approaches to specific sensing challenges (temperature, water level, etc.)
  • Lead projects including analog and digital circuit design, sensor and data acquisition equipment selection, and Labview application development

Mechanical Engineering

Design

Brewer Engineering
  • Develop and test innovative system designs and process enhancements for existing and next generation Keurig products
  • Perform and oversee data collection and analysis for prototype appliances
  • Maintain existing reporting requirements
Machine Design
  • Support activities around internal equipment design, build, and debug
  • Gain experience in Solidworks modeling, assemblies, and detail drawing 
  • Design calculations, data analysis, and assembly of portion pack equipment
  • Oversee machine documentation management (database storage, revision control, release process)

Research & Development

Process Development
  • Test new product prototypes, record and analyze the data, and report results and trends
  • Conduct experiments using pilot plant food processing equipment
  • Analyze new product development data using statistical methods
Product Development
  • Work in our Advanced Research laboratory to test beverage products and packages that support the Keurig® brewing system according to pre-defined protocols
  • Work with Portion Pack designs and component suppliers (injection molding and thermoforming) to resolve issues for existing and new products
  • Assist in developing test methods and process protocols to support R&D and QC initiatives

Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering

Industrial Engineering
  • Work on projects requiring productivity, space planning, and financial cost analysis 
  • Design reports, presentations, and analytics to support supply chain and logistics projects
  • Partner to surface, suggest, and implement sustainable solutions for Supply Chain/Logistics planning, capacity and capability, productivity, and network optimization
Manufacturing/Systems Engineering 
  • Assist the Operational Excellence team in tracking and analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities including increased uptime/product quality through root cause analysis, problem solving, data-driven analysis, decision making, and waste elimination
  • Drive production efficiency gains through data-driven decision making
  • Utilize statistical data analysis of critical process indicators where possible
Quality Engineering
  • Perform coffeemaker, component, and/or material testing according to established protocols 
  • Create and maintain test date and status records; perform data entry, analysis, and reporting
  • Perform coffee maker failure analysis, inspection, and functional evaluation
  • Execute Design of Experiments, Accelerated Aging, and other Reliability testing on brewers and components

Chemical Engineering & Food Science

Process Development
  • Test new product prototypes, record and analyze the data, and report results and trends
  • Conduct experiments using pilot plant food processing equipment
  • Analyze new product development data using statistical methods
Product Development/New Technology
  • Provide technical support to product (beverage) development including testing of enabling technologies for product development and quality improvements, flavor analysis, and technical troubleshooting as needed
  • Assist Senior Scientists in vetting technical capability enhancements using lab experimentation
  • Develop great-tasting stable formulas for new products containing dairy ingredients and create thermal treatment processes on these new formulas
  • Support beverage development, including testing of enabling technologies for product development and quality improvements
  • Conduct analytical tests with laboratory instrumentation e.g., pH, TA, viscosity, etc. 
Environmental Sustainability
  • Design, develop, and implement environmental research utilizing Life Cycle Assessment methodologies for the entire Keurig Green Mountain product line
  • Conduct and supply research, data, and support to update development standards and evaluate product environmental impact
  • Develop clearly written analyses and interpretations of Life Cycle Assessments
